SU Students Help Fundraise For Victims In The Philippines

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - A group of Salisbury students are working to help victims in the Philippines.

The Filipino American Cultural Association at Salisbury University is teaming up with other student-led organizations, including sororities and fraternities on campus, to collect monetary donations.

One Filipino student says she has many relatives in the Philippines near the area with the most devastation.

"It took three days for us to finally hear something from our family," says Diana Dittmer, a sophomore at Salisbury University. "It's a poor country as it is they don't have all of the resources that we do."

The group will collect money until December 5th and then transport the funds to UNICEF, who will bring the funds directly to the relief effort.

"Even a dollar could make a difference," says Pauline Maderazo, a junior at Salisbury University.
