DE Law Enforcers Plan Cellphone Crackdown

Posted: Updated:

DOVER, Del. (AP) - The Delaware Office of Highway Safety says law enforcement officers will conduct a one-day crackdown on driving with cellphones.

The enforcement effort will take place Friday throughout the state.

Officials say there have been 14,712 cell phone citations issued so far this year.

Delaware law bans texting while driving as well as the use of hand-held cellphones. There is a $106 fine for a first offense.
