Posted: Updated:

DOVER, Del. - A fire in Dover on Monday left an elderly woman in critical condition. According to reports, the blaze broke out shortly before noon on Tall Pines Drive near South State street.

The damage is estimated at $10,000 dollars. Reports say the house had smoke alarms but they were not operational.

Authorities say an 85 year old female resident was rescued from the dwelling. She reportedly has been transported to the Crozer Burn Center in Pennsylvania suffering from burns and smoke inhalation.

Authorities say a juvenile resident was treated and released from Bayhealth's Kent General Hospital after being evaluated for smoke inhalation.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal's office is investigating the blaze.
