WICOMICO CO., Md. - A Denton man has been charged after allegedly attempting to flee police in two counties.
Maryland State Police in Salisbury say on Monday, around 1:45 AM they were notified by Deputies in Dorchester County about a black Dodge Durango that was fleeing into Wicomico County on Route 50, near Vienna. According to the report, the vehicle eventually stopped at Zion Road and Route 13, and the driver, 20-year-old Richard Dawson, of Denton, was arrested.
Inside the vehicle were also two teenagers, a 13 and a 15-year-old, were released to the custody of their parents. Police say while Dawson was fleeing, he rammed a Trooper's patrol vehicle at Route 50 and Nanticoke Road.
He was charged with DUI/DWI, along with numerous criminal and traffic charges. Dawson will have a hearing with the District Court Commissioner Monday morning.
