Milford Students "Take A Veteran" To School

Posted: Updated:

MILFORD, Del. - Days before Veteran's Day, one local school took some time out to honor those who served in our armed forces.

Fourth and fifth graders at Mispillion Elementary School welcomed troops to their school on Friday as a part of "Take A Veteran to School." Soldiers spoke to students about why they enlisted, sharing stories of their service.

"It teaches our children the importance of veterans and it also teaches them about pride in our country," said Keith Bauer of Maryland Army National Guard. "It also give thanks to individuals that have given so much to their country."

Take a Veteran to School is a national program, which brings students and vets together.
