SALISBURY, Md. - An 18-year-old Salisbury woman is behind bars after allegedly fleeing from Police.

A Deputy with the Wicomico County Sheriff's Department was standing at the intersection of Naylor Mill Road and Jersey Road, when he noticed the drivers of a vehicle not wearing a seat belt, so he flagged them down into a nearby parking lot.

According to the report, the driver, Markeeta Waters, pulled into the lot, but then accelerated away, leaving the Deputy behind. The Deputy says he returned to his vehicle, and caught up with Waters on Log Cabin Road, following her until she pulled into a driveway on Dublin Road.

Waters was arrested, and charged with attempt to flee and elude, driving while suspended, driving while revoked, operator not restrained by a seat belt, and reckless driving. Police say that Waters didn't live at the address she pulled into, and that she told the Deputy that she was on the way to see her probation agent and couldn't be late.
