Chinese Delegates Visit Eastern Shore

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md - Wicomic County Public Schools hosted a delegation of Chinese officials who are exploring in education in the United States today.

"The purpose is to learn about the activities that we're doing and also see what kind of things we can share as far as ideas," says Superintendent John Frederickson.

Eight delegates toured James Bennett High School, something that they were planning on doing in the Spring. But because of the Boston Bombing and the Government Shutdowns, their visit to the Eastern Shore was delayed until today.

Frederickson hopes this visit will leave a lasting impact on the school.

"We'd like to have more classes for our students to learn world languages and it would be fantastic if it was Chinese because that is the second largest economy in the world right now behind ours and I think we need to be interacting together if we're going to all succeed,"
