Baltimore Officials Mourn Firefighter's Death

Posted: Updated:

BALTIMORE (AP) - Hundreds of people gathered this weekend to mourn the death of a Baltimore firefighter.

Funeral services were held Saturday for firefighter Andrew Hoffman at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen. Firefighters and officers saluted as Hoffman's casket passed by.

Police say the 27-year-old Hoffman and his girlfriend, Marie Hartman, were killed last weekend in Glen Burnie.

Hoffman was a third-generation Baltimore firefighter. Friends and colleagues called him a hero for his courageous actions on the job to save lives.

The suspect in the case is 37-year-old Baltimore police officer Christopher Robinson. Police say Robinson shot the two victims before killing himself.
