UPDATE: Fatal Crash In Georgetown Under Investigation

GEORGETOWN, Del. - A two vehicle crash in Georgetown on Friday afternoon, shutdown Seashore Highway in for around three hours.

Delaware State Police say 19-year-old Nathaniel McCullen, of Seaford, was driving a 1997 GMC Sonoma pick-up truck on Seashore Highway, when for unknown reasons the pickup truck drifted into the Eastbound lanes. According to the report, a 2000 Hyundai Sonata, tried to avoid the truck but was hit head-on, and partially lodged over a guardrail.

The driver, 58-year-old Jane Workman, of Bridgeville, who was reportedly wearing a seat belt, had to be extricated by mechanical means, and taken by EMS to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. McCullen was also taken to NMH by EMS, where he was admitted for non-life threatening injuries. Police say its unknown whether or not he was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

The DSP Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this incident. Police say at this time its unknown whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, but that charges could be forthcoming.
