Healthy Halloween Tips - Try the Switch Witch!

Posted: Updated:

WMDT 47 News - The reality of eating too much candy can be scary for parents. So we looked up some ways to make the little ones happy but cut back on the sugar.

If you're looking for ways to keep things fun and healthy this Halloween, try the Switch Witch! Like Santa or the Tooth Fairy, the Switch Witch visits children while they sleep and leaves a prize.

Just have your kids put a sack of candy on the front door step, switch it out for a toy when they go to bed and everyone wakes up happy.

We took to the streets to get some other healthy halloween tips from folks here on Delmarva.
"I would pick out all the really sugary sweet stuff and eat it myself so that the kids wouldn't eat it and that would make it much healthier for them," Jim Riley of Crisfield said.

"My kids they get the candy but they eat it in moderation.they weren't allowed to eat it all at one time. just a few pieces at a time. Or they get apples, oranges, stuff like that," Helen Williams of Salisbury said.
