Salisbury Woman Pleads Guilty To Burning Daughter

SALISBURY, Md. - A Salisbury woman will spend 10 years behind bars after burning her daughter with a hot knife.

On Wednesday, 43-year-old Petrona Lopez, pleaded guilty to 2nd degree child abuse, of her 11-year-old daughter.

The charges stem from a May 14th, 2013 incident where Lopez heated a knife, and burnt the face of her daughter. The girl suffered from 2nd degree burns to her face and hands.

Lopez was sentenced to 10 years in the Department of Corrections by a Wicomico County Judge.
