MILTON, Del. - One man has been charged after a crash involving three vehicles, including a school bus and a motorcycle, in Milton.

Delaware State Police say around 6:50 AM on Wednesday, a school bus was driving on Cave Neck Road, when it stopped to pick up a passenger. According to the report, a 48-year-old Milton man, who was riding a motorcycle, came to a stop behind the bus, when a 2000 Ford Taurus being driven by 19-year-old Marcos Perez-Matias, of Milton, didn't see the stopped vehicles, and hit the bike.

Police say the man was ejected from the motorcycle, while the Taurus continued on the road, hitting the back of the bus, then a utility pole, before finally coming to a stop. There were reportedly three boys ages 7-10-years-old on the bus, but Police say that none of riders, nor the driver were injured in the incident. The motorcyclist was taken to Beebe Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say that Perez-Matias tried to flee from the scene after the crash, but two witnesses quickly apprehended him. Troopers transported him to Troop 7, and investigated him for a DUI.

He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, 1st degree vehicular assault, driving without a valid license, passing a stopped school bus, leaving the scene of a person injury crash, and operating a vehicle while using an electronic device (cell phone). Perez-Matias is being held at Sussex Correction Institution on $4,200 bail.
