Mar-Va: $45K Raised For Theater Upgrades

Posted: Updated:

POCOMOKE CITY, Md. - Back in August, Mar-Va Theater workers told WMDT that November would be "doomsday," potentially closing down the Pocomoke landmark.

Now, we're told the show may go on, just without movies.

According to the Mar-Va Theater, the company has $45,000 in donations thus far. Their new time frame to receive $120,000 in new equipment is January 1st. The theater is looking to replace old projectors, audio equipment and a screen due to movie companies switching from 35 millimeter film to a digital system.

The theater says it will still host plays even without the full donation.
