Salisbury City Employees One Step Closer To Wage Increase

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Salisbury's nearly 400 city employees are now one step closer to getting an increase in their wages.

The city council says they passed the first reading of a proposal that would allocate $700,000 for the increases.

The proposal comes from a $40,000 study by Evergreen Solutions LLC, which found 80 percent of the city's employees earn less than the mid point of their pay ranges.

The proposal must pass a second reading next month to go into effect.
