SALISBURY, Md. - Some local teens are giving back to the community in a big way this week. Twenty-three students from the Salisbury School are helping rebuild the home of a Salisbury couple. Monday, they began working on projects around the home, like replacing a broken storm door as well as the deck and stair railings, power washing the house, painting the trim, and removing and replacing rotten boards.
Helena Beckstead, a senior, tells WMDT what this experience means for her, "I think that getting in touch with the community is extremely valuable for everybody here. Um, I know that a lot of us live very sheltered lives, so it's very important to get out into the community and just help people."
All of the students tasks are expected to be complete by Friday.
