Crisfield Set To Build New Library

Posted: Updated:

CRISFIELD, Md. - Much of the construction in Crisfield has helped repair damage from Super Storm Sandy. But, soon a new building will go up to replace one that's held firm for almost 80 years.

The city broke ground for a new library Sunday that will help meet the needs of a more modern community.

"This new library is really going to be a state of the art facility," said Phil Riggin, a volunteer on the planning project. "It will have multiple purposes, including job training and sections set aside for every age group."

He said the old building was originally built in the 1930s, and has become outdated. The library is expected open in about 18 months.
