8th Annual Job Fair Comes To Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. - More than 2500 job seekers came out to the 8th annual job fair in Salisbury today, according to officials.

The event, held at the Centre at Salisbury from 3:30 to 7:00 PM, was hosted by the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce and the One-Stop Job Market on Wednesday. It was open to any business seeking employees in the Lower Shore area. A handful of "Resume Doctors" were also on hand to offer free advice and suggestions to applicants and evaluate their resumes.

Greg Eberts, director of the department of labor, licensing, and regulation for the One Stop Job Market lower shore area, says there may have been as many as 3,000 jobs available among all of the employers.

"It's one day of the year where we can put about 40 employers with thousands of job seekers and a lot of different jobs."

Albert Johnson, one of the employees with the DART Bus Service booth, says he talked to a lot of interested job-seekers.

"The Centre At Salisbury is one of the main spots here where a lot of people come through and that's what happened today."

For any job seekers that missed the event, head over to the Maryland Workforce Exchange website for the full list of jobs.
