WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. - Cygnus has returned to Earth, the Pacific Ocean specifically.

According to Orbital Sciences' Twitter feed, the spacecraft re-entered Earth's atmosphere more than three hours ago. It departed the International Space Station on Tuesday, three weeks after making contact.

But as one mission ends, another begins.

The next Cygnus flight is en route to Wallops Island. The contractor announced the first commercial re-supply mission on Twitter, known as Orbital-1.

"Second #Cygnus service module on its way to @NASA_Wallops in prep for 1st #CRS mission," tweeted Orbital Sciences.

It is expected to launch in December.
