411 Changes For Verizon Customers In Maryland

MARYLAND - As of October 16th, 2013 residential customers in Maryland only have 2 free directory assistance calls per month instead of 4.

That's according to a warning from the Maryland Office of People's Counsel. Each 411 after the allotted amount will cost an extra $1.99. This change applies to all residential customers and Lifeline customers.

The Maryland Office of People's Counsel offered the following tips to obtain free Directory Assistance information:

If the customer with disabilities does not get a satisfactory response from Verizon, he/she should contact the Public Service Commission to make a complaint at 800-735-0474 or 800-735-2258 (TTY/Voice).

OPC also recommends that cell phone users without data plans should check their cell phone plans for the cost of directory assistance calls charged by their cell phone providers.
