LEWES, Del. - Getting ready for it's centennial celebration, Wednesday, folks in Lewes unveiled a spruced up post office.

Volunteers launched the Preserving Our Post Office campaign in an effort to beautify the Lewes facility, raising over $10,000 for the project.

"We have raised a lot of money that people of Lewes have contributed.  Over 160 some people have contributed money," says Bruce Chandler, Chairman of Preserving Our Post Office.

Post Master Bill Osienski, says "it's what the town wants obviously, 'cause I saw how much donations came through here and everyone pitching in and donating."

The group planted new shrubs, installed irrigation systems, and improved lighting around the building.

Saturday, October 19th will be the official Centennial Celebration for the Lewes Post Office.
