Oct. 22 - Community Action to Celebrate 48 Years with Dinner

GOOD MORNING DELMARVA - First State Community Action Agency, a statewide non-profit helping low-income people become self-sufficient, is celebrating 48 years of service with an annual dinner and recognition ceremony, Monday, November 18, 2013, at Dover Downs Conference Center.   The event is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. and will feature live auction, special music by Shades of Blue jazz ensemble, and nationally renowned preacher and educator, Dr. Tony Campolo, Ph.D.  

Dr. Campolo, Professor Emeritus of sociology at Eastern University in St. Davids, PA is among the most celebrated and sought-after speakers and writers in the United States.  He has authored thirty-five books, the most recent of which is Red Letter Christians and is the founder of the Evangelical Association for the Promotion of Education (EAPE).

Through EAPE, Dr. Campolo has developed and nurtured a number of educational institutes and enrichment programs helping youth in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Africa, Canada and throughout the USA.
