RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A legislative panel on Medicaid expansion is set to hear from Virginians.
The Medicaid Innovation and Reform Commission will conduct a public hearing Tuesday at the General Assembly Building in Richmond.
The General Assembly established the commission earlier this year to monitor implementation of cost-saving reforms sought by Virginia as a condition for expanding the program to an additional 400,000 uninsured low-income residents under the federal health care reform law.
The commission consists of five state senators, five delegates and two members of Gov. Bob McDonnell's Cabinet.
