SALISBURY, Md. - A local police force is working to cut down thefts from businesses. Salisbury Police say they are hoping by publicizing the arrests they make for shoplifting, they will, in turn, reduce incidents of the crime.

They say that shop-lifters contribute to retailers having to raise costs to cover those stolen items. US retailers report $35 million in stolen merchandise, every day.

From October 7th through October 13th, Salisbury Police say they made seven shoplifting arrests.

Brandt Taylor, 18, of Georgetown, DE
Zachary Herbert, 19, of Salisbury, MD
3 Juvenile males from Salisbury, MD
2 Juvenile female from Fruitland, MD

All seven people were charged with theft.
