ACCOMACK CO., Va. - A Fruitland man has died after his vehicle ran off the road in Accomack County. It happened Thursday morning around 10:30 AM.

Authorities say that Ernest Gibbons Jr., was driving a flatbed tractor trailer Southbound on Route 13, when the vehicle left the highway and went into a ditch, causing it to overturn.

The 74-year-old, who was reportedly not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only occupant.

A medical condition is believed to have caused the single-vehicle crash.
