Coast Guard Rescues 2 Boaters From Capsized Sailboat Near Ocean City

Posted: Updated:

OCEAN CITY, Md. - A day on the water ended in a rescue for two boaters in the St. Martin River near Ocean City.

A good Samaritan noticed the overturned sailboat and called the Coast Guard around 12:30PM on Monday. Officials say one of the passengers was pulled from the water almost 25 yards away from the capsized boat.

Officials noted that the best decision the pair made was to wear their life jackets. The Coast Guard crew transferred both boaters to the Ocean Pines Marina where they were checked by Ocean City Fire Department EMS. No injuries were reported.
