Somerset Co. Humane Society Offers Reward In Mutilated Cat Case

Posted: Updated:

CRISFIELD, Md. - After two cats were brutally attacked in Crisfield, the Somerset County Humane Society is offering a $645 reward for information leading to the conviction of the person or persons responsible.

The animals were reportedly found near Richardson Avenue, in Crisfield sometime overnight between September 28th and 29th.  One of the cats was doused in diesel fuel and the other, slashed across the abdomen.  The fuel drenched feline was put down, but we're told the other is in intensive care following surgery.

The Humane Society will pay for the cat's health care, but is asking the public for donations, which can be sent to the following address.

Humane Society Somerset County

P.O. Box 493

Princess Anne, MD 21853

Anyone with information is asked to call the Humane Society at 410-651-24-24.  Crisfield police have also been alerted.
