MILLSBORO, Del. - Delaware State Police say a Millsboro man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in South Bethany early this morning on October 6th.

According to reports, the incident occurred at 12:57 AM as Christopher Chapman, 33, traveled west on Kent Drive at a high rate of speed. Chapmen reportedly lost control of the vehicle, overcorrected, and the car left the south edge of the roadway while rotating counterclockwise. The vehicle, a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier, allegedly traveled approximately 78 feet on loose gravel before its passenger side struck a tree.

Police say Chapman, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, died while being transported to Beebe Hospital by ambulance. Kent Avenue was reportedly closed for three hours as the Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated and cleared the crash.
