SALISBURY, Md. - The Walk to End Alzheimer's takes place later in October, so to get ready, WMDT is featuring individuals who have been impacted by the disease throughout the month.

Twenty-year-old Taylor Shriver from Chestertown, Maryland's grandmother, Pauline, was diagnosed with dementia when Taylor was in high school.  After seeing how it affected her family, the now college senior, interned with the Alzheimer's association as a youth ambassador for the Upper Shore.

This remarkable young woman shared some words of advice for others with loved ones suffering from the disease.

"You have to get yourself more educated and just be involved.  I know it's a really hard process and I've seen my grandmother go through her worst times, but at the end of the day, you don't know how much longer," says Taylor.

The Walk to End Alzheimer's takes place on October 26th at Wicomico Senior Services Center, with registration starting at 9 am.
