DOVER, Del. (AP) - Delaware State police say a woman who was hit by a car while crossing a street in New Castle in July has died.
Troopers say 50-year-old Carmen M. Ross of New Castle died Sept. 18. She had been taken to Christiana Hospital after the accident on July 29.
Police say Ross and her 9-year-old daughter tried to cross the southbound lanes of North DuPont Parkway near the Memorial Drive intersection that night. Officers say Ross was hit by a car driven by 21-year-old Farel Deshazor of Newark. The daughter was not hit.
The accident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
