SALISBURY, Md. - A local police force is working to cut down thefts from businesses. Salisbury Police say they are hoping by publicizing the arrests they make for shoplifting, they will, in turn, reduce incidents of the crime.

They say that shop-lifters contribute to retailers having to raise costs to cover those stolen items. US retailers report $35 million in stolen merchandise, every day.

From September 23rd through 30th, Salisbury Police say they made nine shoplifting arrests.

Kieonna Hall, 30, of Salisbury, MD
Dorian Nichols, 25, of Salisbury, MD

Diana Simms, 62, of Federalsburg, MD
Janise Culley, 32, of Delmar, MD
Melvin Ford Jr., 36, of Delmar, MD
