WORCESTER CO., Md. - With major health care changes right around the corner, the Worcester County Health Department wants to make sure Maryland residents are informed and know what to do to get proper coverage.
The health department, through the Lower Shore Health Insurance Assistance Program, has set up the Maryland Health Connection to help residents figure out if they qualify for a free or low -cost plan or maybe savings that would lower monthly premiums right away.
Katherine Gunby, the program coordinator, talks about specifics of Maryland Health Connection, says "Think of it as a virtual market place where you can shop, compare and choose a help plan for families and individuals age 64 and younger. There are a wide variety of plans available on Maryland Health Connection."
To find a plan for you, You can go to lower shore health dot org. to get help or, if you feel comfortable, you can shop the plans on your own. You can also call the hotline at 855-445-5540 to speak with a certified staff member.
