WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - The Delaware State Police says they've arrested a Wilmington man on drug charges after a vehicle pursuit.
Troopers say they attempted to stop 31-year-old Michael E. Irwin in the parking lot of a Wilmington business, but as detectives approached Irwin's car he allegedly put it in reverse, hit a detective's vehicle and then drove away. Detectives pursuing Irwin say they saw him throw a bag out the window of his vehicle. That bag was later found to contain more than 25 grams of ecstasy.
Police did ultimately stop Irwin but allegedly fought with detectives as he was taken into custody. Detectives searching Irwin's home found more than 30 grams of marijuana and more than 2 grams of ecstasy. Irwin was arrested Sept. 17.
