GEORGETOWN, Del. - The man accused of shooting at police officers' homes in Sussex and Wicomico Counties was back in court for day two of his jury trial in Georgetown Wednesday. Twenty-four-year-old David Watson of Laurel faces numerous charges including first degree attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Tuesday, Dewey Beach Police Sergeant Cliff Dempsey testified that his house in Laurel was shot at on the night of December 27. Wednesday, a number of witnesses took the stand as evidence including the weapons, bullets and pictures involved were presented.

Prosecutors allege that Watson and accomplice 21-year-old Orrin Joudrey of Delmar, Md. went on a shooting spree in December of 2012, taking aim at homes with marked police vehicles in Wicomico and Sussex Counties.

Wednesday, Watson came out in handcuffs and a white jumpsuit, wearing black-rimmed eyeglasses and orange crocs. His hair was slicked back. He was extremely alert while listening to the arguments presented by counsel.

Police took Watson into custody back in January. They reportedly recovered a shotgun, rifle and ammunition from his home. Joudrey was also arrested in January during a traffic stop. Police say they found a shotgun and rifle ammunition in his car. He pleaded guilty to a number of felonies and was sentenced to 15 years behind bars back in August. Watson has pleaded not guilty.

The shootings began on December 10 at a Wicomico County deputy sheriff's home in Salisbury. On December 27, a Worcester County police officer's home in Wicomico County was also shot at. That same night, bullets penetrated Officer Cliff Dempsey's home in Sussex County.

Day three of the trial will begin Thursday morning at 9 a.m.
