Salisbury Police Make Eleven Shoplifting Arrests

SALISBURY, Md. - A local police force is working to cut down thefts from businesses. Salisbury Police say they are hoping by publicizing the arrests they make for shoplifting, they will, in turn, reduce incidents of the crime.

They say that shop-lifters contribute to retailers having to raise costs to cover those stolen items. US retailers report $35 million in stolen merchandise, every day.

From September 16th through 23rd, Salisbury Police say they made six shoplifting arrests.

Kristy Wallace, 29, of Salisbury, MD
Lisa Smith, 48, of Willards, MD
Brittany Hancock, 19, of Fredicksburg, VA
Derrick McManama, 28,  of Fredicksburg, VA
Patricia Dilworth, 56, of Salisbury, MD
Bobbi Lewis, 35, of Pocomoke, MD
Mireida Bustos-Magadan, 25, of Salisbury, MD
Jamar Goings, 29, of Delmar, DE
and a juvenile male of Salisbury, MD

All eleven people were charged with theft.
