OCEAN CITY, Md. - Maryland State Police say they are investigating a fatal hit and run.

According to reports, at around 10:09 PM on September 20th, troopers responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a red Ford pick-up in the area of Eastbound 50 at Elm Street in West Ocean City. Troopers say upon their arrival, the pedestrian was determined to have fatal injuries from the impact with the vehicle. The pedestrian was reportedly walking across the Eastbound lanes of Route 50 when the impact occurred. Witnesses say they observed a full size red Ford pick-up strike the pedestrian and subsequently flee the scene, continuing Eastbound on Route 50 towards Ocean City. The vehicle allegedly has front end damage and is missing a clear thin headlight lens and an amber marker light lens. Law enforcement agencies throughout Worcester County say they searched the area for the vehicle with negative results.

Troopers say the pedestrian was transported to Atlantic General Hospital where they died. They are asking any individuals with information in the identity of the vehicle and driver to contact 410-641-3101, extension 0, immediately.
