WASHINGTON (AP) - A military support group has established a fund to support the families of the 12 people killed in Monday's Navy Yard shootings.
The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) says all the money it receives for its Navy Yard Tragedy Family Support Fund will be used to support those 12 families.
TAPS frequently works with the military to provide financial and emotional support to military families whose loved ones die while serving. The organization provided support for the victims of the 2009 Fort Hood shootings.
A separate fund for Navy Yard victims has also been set up by The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region.
