Two Classrooms At Arcadia HS Closed Due To Mold

Posted: Updated:

OAK HALL, Va. - A local high school closed two classrooms after mold was discovered.

Officials from Arcadia High School say they had an industrial hygienist from Sussex Environmental Health Consultants, LLC, look at the conditional of the building. After the assessment the school closed the art room, and the band room, because of elevated levels of indoor mold spore concentration.

According to the report, the rooms have been cleaned, and will be reopened soon. They took final samples on Monday, and safe levels were declared by the industrial hygienist. Carpeting was removed from the band room, and will be replaced with tile, and the rooms will be repainted. It is expected to reopen next week.
