Daughter Of Court Shooter To Be Held Until Trial

Posted: Updated:

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A federal judge has ordered the daughter of a man who killed his former daughter-in-law and another woman at a Delaware courthouse in February be held until her trial.

Amy Gonzalez had been fighting an effort by federal prosecutors to keep her behind bars pending a trial on conspiracy and stalking charges.

But on Tuesday, a judge ruled that Gonzalez will stay in prison.

Prosecutors say the 41-year-old Gonzalez conspired with family members to torment and stalk her former sister-in-law, Christine Belford, following Belford's bitter divorce and custody battle with Gonzalez's brother, former Delaware optometrist David Matusiewicz.

Their father, Thomas Matusiewicz, fatally shot Belford and a friend on Feb. 11 at the New Castle County Courthouse. He then exchanged gunfire with police before killing himself.
