BERLIN, Md. - A few weeks after former paramedic Zackery Tyndall filed an $8 million harassment suit with the Berlin Fire Company, we're learning another ex-paramedic has filed a complaint.
Jeff Dean tells WMDT he filed a complaint with the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in April, alleging he witnessed racial and sexual harassment while with the Berlin Fire Company.
Dean says after he reported the issues to the Town of Berlin, he was subjected to threats of physical violence, a hostile work environment, and threats of termination.
This news comes less than a week after $200,000 in partial funding was restored to the Fire Company. The town cut more than half a million dollars from the budget after Zachary Tyndall and Jeff Dean reported alleged in-company discrimination to the Town of Berlin.
