SALSIBURY, Md. - Up for consideration by the Salisbury City Council at Monday's work session, a request by the police department to purchase nine tasers.
The $12,500 dollar price tag would include High Definition cameras attached to each device. A pricey investment, but many people we spoke to thought this would be a positive addition to the department.
"I think if it brings safety to our streets in lieu of having to use fire arms as a means of protecting people, I think it's ok," said Shane Causey.
Susan Donalds agreed, telling WMDT "I think they should use any means they have to."
While most of the responses we got were in favor of the tasers, WMDT did speak to one person who didn't think it was a good idea.
The tasers would be paid for by revenue generated from the city's speed cameras.
