Arraignment Set For Arson Suspect

Posted: Updated:

ACCOMAC, Va. - An arraignment date has been set for one of the accused Accomack County arsonists.

According to the Accomack County clerk's office, formal charges will be read for Charles Smith Monday afternoon. Earlier this week, Smith's attorney filed a motion to suppress asking the judge for certain evidence not to be allowed.

Smith was arrested and charged for his alleged involvement in the April 1st fire set to a vacant building in Melfa. Last month, he was indicted on an additional 67 counts of arson.

His fiancee, Tonya Bundick is still being held at the Accomack County jail for her alleged involvement, despite being granted bond last month.
