Hogs And Heroes Raises 6K For Fallen Ocean City Police

Posted: Updated:

OCEAN CITY, Md - The Hogs and Heroes foundation have tallied up their total from the fundraising they have been doing.

They have raised over $6,000. The proceeds will go to the families of the fallen Ocean City Police Officers involved in a plane crash in July.

"We lost both Tommy and Josh back in July, it was a big tragedy to the OCPD. The money that the Hogs and Heroes have raised in July is going to go towards the family and it's truly an honor for the Hogs and Heroes to do what they've done," says Carl Perry, of the Fraternal Order of Police.

"It's great to see a plan come from an idea to an execution now to the final presentation and seeing the reaction to the recipients here in Ocean City, it's gratifying," says Michael Sandoe, events coordinator of Hogs and Heroes.

Sandoe himself admitted that he did not expect Hogs and Heroes to raise as much money as they did.

"My expectations: I would have been happy with three-thousand-dollars. I had no idea with the overwhelming support from our community. It sums it up right there. Veterans, businesses and customers, they just kept giving to us,"
