Sushi De Kanpai Hosts Fundraiser For Eastern Shore Native

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md - Sushi de Kanpai in downtown Salisbury is hosting a fundraiser for Eastern Shore native Sarah Nelson.

Sarah Nelson, from Princess Anne, is a film student from American University who is trying to raise money for her thesis film, Disconnect. Disconnect is a short film about human connections and the subjective experiences of romantic relationships.

"Basically, it started with me trying to figure out how I was trying to make this film. It's kind of hard to pull resources in the big city, so I gave Jet a call," says Nelson.

Sushi de Kanpai tells WMDT that being community based, they were on-board with helping out Sarah.

"We are a local-owned operated restaurant so without the community, we wouldn't be here ourselves. It's only right for us to support other local artists or local businesses," says Jet Roberts, General Manager of Sushi De Kanpai.

The event starts Friday at 10:00 PM and ends at 2:00 AM. This is a 21 and older event.
