WORCESTER CO., Md. - Worcester, Montgomery, and Prince Georges County's finest joined forces Wednesday on the shore to train how to investigate motorcycle crashes.
The demonstration shows what happens when a motorcycle driving 30 MPH crashes into a car who has failed to yield. The result? This 2,700 lbs. car was hit so hard by the bike, that the car moved two feet and the motorcycle operator was thrown from his bike.
"What we've been learning all week pans out in real life so we can testify in court that yes, we've done this, we've seen it happen, we know the dynamics of crashes and this is what goes on," says Lt. Schreir of the Worcester County Sheriff's Office. He also says, in general there appear to be more motorcycles on the road because it's a cheaper way to get around. He reminds everyone to drive safely, especially during this years Bike Week.
