Kent County SPCA To Officially Take Over Dog Control Services

KENT CO., Del. - The Kent County SPCA will officially take over dog control services in the county.

A vote at Tuesday night's Levy Court Meeting approved the proposal six to one. Although this only gives the facility three weeks to prepare, they fully expect the service to be up and running by the 1st of October. The new contract comes after Georgetown's Safe Haven shelter failed to keep up with the responsibility. Officials say the contract will feature big changes, including a member of the Levy Court on the SPCA board, and free customer service training.
