3 Arrested After Crowd Disturbance At UD

NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Newark police have arrested three people following a disturbance involving hundreds of University of Delaware students. Police responded to a disorderly party on South College Ave. about 11:30 p.m. Monday and saw people urinating in public and trespassing on nearby property.

Authorities said young people began blocking traffic and walking on cars as police tried to break up the growing crowd, which authorities said swelled to several thousand people. Trash cans and signs also were damaged. Two UD students were arrested for hosting a disorderly premise and other offenses.

Nineteen-year-old Anthony Iadisernia and 20-year-old Evan Touzzoli were released on their own recognizance, as was 26-year-old Marcus Hyde, a cameraman filming the disturbance who was charged with disorderly conduct. Photos and videos of the incident were posted on the Internet.
