New Trial For Former Coach Accused Of Underage Sex

WICOMICO CO., Md. - A new date has been set for the child abuse trial of a former Wicomico High School football coach. David Nettles will once again face a jury on November 18th and 19th.

He is accused of sexually abusing a former student who was age 17 at the time of the alleged abuse. A Judge declared a mistrial, back in July, after a jury was unable to arrive at a unanimous verdict. This was not the first time either, the same thing happened back in January, making this next date his third trial by jury. According to the State's Attorney's Office, Nettles will have as many trials as it takes to reach a verdict.

The victim in this case, is the second to came forward to accuse Nettles of abuse. Last September, he was acquitted of third degree sex offense, stemming from allegations of assault in 2007.
