Proposing Fines For Excessive Barking

SUSSEX CO., Del - Sussex County Council will hold a public hearing on a proposal to issue fine to dog owners whose pets continually bark.

The ordinance would apply to dogs that bark for 30 minutes or more without stopping. If it passes, residents would be fined between $25 and $75 for a first offense. Multiple violations over 30 days could lead to a fine as high as $300. The public hearing is scheduled for 10:30 Tuesday morning.
