SALISBURY, Md. - A Salisbury man has been convicted of kidnapping a woman from the Brew River parking lot, back in February. On Thursday, 25-year-old Adene Bekele was convicted of kidnapping, 2nd degree assault, false imprisonment, and dangerous weapon wear and carry with intent to injure.

The conviction stems from a February 1st incident where Bekele, pretended to be a taxi driver, and picked up a 20-year-old woman from the Brew River parking lot. Bekele drove the woman past her house, to his own house, and then forced her inside at knife point. The woman was able to escape, and call 911.

Both Bekele and the victim were Salisbury University students at the time of the abduction. Bekele's bond has been revoked pending a sentencing hearing.
