HARRINGTON, Del. - A Centreville, Maryland man has been charged with his reported, 7th DUI offense, this time in Delaware.
Harrington Police say officers on patrol was called to Rudy's Diner on South DuPont Highway, for a reported intoxicated person in a parked vehicle in the parking lot. According to the report, the officers found the vehicle, and spoke with the man in the driver's seat, 46-year-old Michael Berger.
During the conversation, officers say they smelled alcohol coming from the vehicle, and had Berger take field sobriety tests. Officers took Berger into custody, and found that he had 6 previous DUI convictions in Maryland from 1986 through 2004.
Harrington PD charged Berger with his 7th DUI offense, he is being held at Sussex Correctional Institute on $20,000 cash bond.
